11th year since it was reinstated and today we 97 swimmers in the water plenty of first timers & plenty of seasoned swimmers. The sun shone and most importantly all who entered exited safety. A big thank you to Limerick Marine Seach & Rescue for the boat cover alongwith the support of Limerick Kayak Club. The Civil Defence provided the welcome shower & finishing tents. 86 swimmers took part in a 1.4km swim in Castleconnell on Wednesday 20th June. It was the first swim in the Summer League. Funds went towards Castleconnell Boat Club & the Marine Search & Rescue. What a weekend of swimming and it was certainly worth the wait. It seems the additional weeks of training with our rescheduled date helped aplenty as the records fell.
