Hi Masters Swimmer,

Thank you for entering this year’s gala.

A draft gala program is available here. The timing schedule for the gala is approximate and is for reference only and should not be relied upon to schedule your individual swims.

If you have any queries with regard to your entry, please reply to galaorganiser2014@gmail.com and we will update in advance of the meet.

The relay events will be deck seeded on the day.

The arrangements are now complete for the post gala dinner and prize giving. This year the format has been changed to make it more attractive for visiting swimmers. The post gala dinner will take place at 6.30pm on Saturday March 1st at the Pavilion Bar and Restaurant in University of Limerick. The restaurant is located across the bridge on the opposite side of the river within 5 minutes’ drive from the pool (see link below). Dinner will include main course, desert and tea/coffee at a cost €15.00 per head, payable at the restaurant cash desk.

In terms of the 1500m on Sunday morning, this event will be deck seeded on the day and will not be scheduled as detailed in the program. The plan at this stage is to run two heats with two swimmers/lane, followed by three heats of 10. The event will be run slowest to fastest.

IMPORTANT POOL SAFETY NOTIFICATION

The 50m pool boom is damaged and as a consequence, all starts will be from the shallow end of the pool. The boom is parked at the deep end of the pool and will be cordoned-off. Swimmers are prohibited from exiting the pool over the blocks at either end of the pool. Exiting the pool can only be achieved by means of the steps on both sides of the pool at the shallow and deep end of the pool. Walking on the boom is prohibited for all participants for the duration of the gala. Diving from the boom at the deep end of the pool is prohibited during the meet.

Looking forward to meeting you all again.

Regards
Limerick Masters SC
