We are now into our 12th annual Thomond Swim. Each year the numbers continue to grow as does open water participation. This year we didn’t have the hot weather but over 91swimmers took to the 14.5 degree water and swam through our historic city.  A big thank you as always to Limerick Marine Seach & Rescue for the boat cover alongwith the support of Limerick Kayak Club. King Johns Castle Thomond Swim

11th year since it was reinstated and today we 97 swimmers in the water plenty of first timers & plenty of seasoned swimmers. The sun shone and most importantly all who entered exited safety. Well done to all the swimmers who took part in a fantastic swim through the heart of Limerick City. A bg thank you to our sponsorts Fly Shannon group. A huge thanks to our volunteers from the club who helped on the day and especially to the Limerick Marine Search & Rescue, Civil Defence, Limerick Kayak Club and St. Michaels Rowing Club for their support. The swim will follow the usual 1800m swim route starting at the slip beside St. Michaels rowing club, to Thomond Bridge and back again. Veni, vidi, vici. On a beautiful day in the centre of Limerick City the Thomond Swim took place. The annual swim is attracting an increasing number of participants and this year, even with other open water events in Cork, Fermoy and Galway over 80 swimmers took to the water. As with recent Thomond swims the main prizes went to clubs from outside the city with Dublin clubs taking the laurels this year.
