Summer Solstice Castleconnell 2017

We had almost 60 swimmers take part in the now annual Summer Solstice Swim in Castleconnell. The swim is run as a fundraiser for Castleconnell Boat Club. Tonight we raised a total of 630€ for the club and we could see one year on from last year the terrific progress that has been made at the site.

We had 3 female junior swimmers tonight Sophie Keane, Julie Lyons & Edie Reynolds. Fantastic swimming over a distance of approximately 1,150m. The ladies started 2 minutes before the men.

Our thanks to Castleconnell Boat Club for their help tonight both on and off the water. While the water was a balmy almost 20 degrees it’s nice to have a cuppa after a dip.
