The swim starts from the slipway at St Michael’s Rowing Club and proceeds up the River Shannon turning just below Thomond Bridge. Competitors then swim down river past King John’s Castle, the Civic offices, Shannon Rowing Club before finishing back at St Michael’ s Rowing Club.

The event is no longer a handicapped event, swimmers will enter the water fastest first based on the 400m time you submit on the entry form.

Prizes are for Fastest Swimmers Skins & Wetsuit (Male & Female) and the Overall Prize is based on the Skins Swimmer who achieves closest to the FINA World Record in their age group.
