Christmas Day Swim 2014

A great crowd turned up to support and swim in the annual Christmas Day swim. As the starting pontoon dipped closer to the “fresh” river water it was too late to turn back….After a large splash, some light elbowing and rebalancing of Santa hats Ger Storan emerged as the victorious winner of the Mens trophy. Ciara Murphy having just completed the annual Christmas Day run took the ladies trophy. While there were many gasps, whoops and red coloured goose bumps most warmed up quickly with some blended Christmas Day tea and coffee!
This year the Club were presented with the original Thomond Swimming Club trophies which date back to 1959 for the mens!
